FAQ

How do you photograph weddings?

From the day you book with me until you receive the final edits, I will be in contact with you regarding preparations, accommodations, preferences, changes, and so forth. If you have a wedding coordinator, I will be in contact with them as well. When you book your session, I will send you a pricing guide with the base cost of the package you have chosen and any additional services you may select. I will visit the venue and the wedding rehearsal to get a feel for the lighting, spacing, and required camera settings. As soon as I arrive on your wedding day, I will begin documenting as many memories as possible. Once the wedding party is ready for post-ceremony portraits, I will direct the party to the preferred location, taking no longer than 30-60 minutes. Portraits will begin with the party as a whole and dwindling down to just the married couple for an intimate session.

Where are you based and do you travel?

I am based in Durham, North Carolina. I will travel all over the state, with a fee according to mileage traveled out of a 50 mile radius. I will also travel to most destinations, but require the client to provide the travel accommodations such as a plane ticket, gas expenses, and/or a hotel.

When will we get our photos?

Your will receive a online gallery link with all of your photos within maximum 5 weeks (sometimes less depending on the season). Your gallery is private, with a password sent with your link. You can download all the photos from the gallery with a download pin, and also share them, choose your favorites, and order prints and other merchandise right from your private gallery.

How many pictures will we receive?

I personally take and keep as many photos as possible. This usually ranges to about 50-60 photos an hour. For an 8-hour wedding, you will receive approximately 400-500 photos.

How should I prepare for my session?

Specific session preparation guidelines can be found on the booking pages for each session. In general, you should:
- Plan your look: outfits, nails, hair, grooming, etc. I always recommend color-coordinating for multiple people in a session.
- Prepare a list of any specific poses you desire
- Eat beforehand and bring water
- Get adequate sleep the night before
- On the day of the shoot, wash your face and apply a light moisturizer. Come with clean, dry hair.
- Do not schedule facials or waxing within a few days of the shoot to prevent redness or breakouts.
